Sistem-mne d.o.o. at the Adria Summit 2026 in Tivat
Focusing on sustainable investment, grid development, and global partnerships, company leaders outlined key challenges and perspectives in today’s energy sector
The company Sistem-mne d.o.o. participated in this year’s Adria Summit 2026 as a participant and observer, where we had the opportunity to follow the most important regional and international trends in economics, energy, and sustainable development.
We devoted particular attention to the panels on the energy transition, renewable energy sources, and the challenges of decarbonisation, as these topics represent one of the key directions of our company’s development. The discussions raised numerous questions about the future of the energy sector in the region, as well as the need for more intensive cooperation between the private and public sectors.
During the summit, we established and expanded partnerships with numerous companies and institutions from the region and Europe, representing a significant step toward further development of business cooperation and potential joint projects.
Company representatives also participated in a roundtable with the Minister of Energy and Mining, during which they discussed potential difficulties in developing energy projects in Montenegro, regulatory challenges, and the need to improve the investment environment in the renewable energy sector.
At the round table, as the company Sistem-mne d.o.o., we devoted particular attention to the topic of the need to define through the legislative framework the concepts of “functional connection” and “co-location,” bearing in mind that in the future there will be an increasing number of energy projects in which investors, for reasons of sustainability, finding the best technical solution, environmental protection, and economic viability, will need to develop and construct connection infrastructure jointly. The current legislative framework does not yet adequately recognise such models of cooperation, which is why we consider that further improvement and adaptation to contemporary trends in the development of the energy sector are essential. This topic is also of particular significance for the reliability of the electricity transmission network, which in the coming years will need to be continuously upgraded and developed while maintaining a sustainable balance between the electricity transmission company and private investors.
We particularly emphasised that the development of wind farm projects is an extremely complex and protracted process. On average, developing a single wind project takes between five and seven years and involves numerous administrative, technical, and regulatory procedures. It was also stressed that the existing legislative framework in Montenegro requires further improvement and adaptation to the contemporary needs of the energy market and investors to enable faster, more efficient development of renewable energy projects.
The company Sistem-mne d.o.o. has extensive experience in developing wind energy projects. We are particularly proud of our participation in the development of the Možura Wind Farm project, which today represents one of the most successful and significant renewable energy projects in Montenegro, confirming the country’s potential for sustainable energy development.
We are currently developing several projects in northern Montenegro, including the Korita Wind Farm, the Sinjajevina 1 Wind Farm, and the Sinjajevina 2 Wind Farm, which have the potential to make a significant contribution to the energy stability and the green transition of the state.
In addition, we developed the Bijela Wind Farm project from its very inception – from measuring wind potential, through preparing complete project documentation, to the issuance of the construction permit, which we expect in the near future. Through the development of this project, we succeeded in bringing a prestigious investor to Montenegro, further confirming that domestic companies can be a strong and reliable partner in the realisation of major energy investments.
The Adria Summit once again confirmed the importance of regional connectivity, the exchange of experience, and joint action in creating a sustainable energy future.
